In December 2022 I found myself bored and restless, feeling bad that I hadn't been working with samples in a while. So I decided to make something new, just for fun, just a pastime activity. I gave myself some rules and limitations to make it more exciting:
- Create something using 100% samples (meaning no recording).
- All compositions between 5 seconds and 2 minutes.
- All compositions consist of at least 2 unrelated samples that overlap for at least one second.
The lack of rational or even musical rules allowed me to work only with aesthetic decisions which I found profoundly liberating!

When you play two different sound clips at the same time, your brain will always try to make sense out of it. Place them appropriately and then they come to life, acting like two musicians meeting for the first time and trying to figure out a song together, without necessarily succeeding (track 8, "Annoying Music Box" is a good example).
The most amazing thing is that you get this effect every time you listen to it! It's so fresh!

In the end, this became an album of tiny sound objects. Little things that one would collect. And then I thought, what if you would collect them like trading cards? Or what if these 33 tracks came with 33 trading cards?
So I created 33 cards with figures set out of context, prompting you to fill it in or to just look at them as they are.
